Major NYC Top-Tier International Law Firm Banking Associate Attorney - 2+ years relevant experience - London Office The Role: The new hire will join the banking group in London where you will undertake a wide variety of work. Whilst working within a small and close-knit team, your individual input will be valued and you will have the chance to work on high quality deals, advising both financial institutions and corporate client. Person Specification: We are looking for an individual with 2+ years relevant experience. The successful individual will be required to manage transactions from start to finish and assist with the development of junior members of the team. You will have excellent experience in managing client relationships and have the interpersonal skills to fit into a collegiate team. You will have a strong, front line, transactional career history to date, and currently work for a top tier law firm. A very strong academic record as well as an outstanding team spirited personality is essential. The Department: The English banking group is a highly collegiate and integrated group of solid team players who revel at taking ownership of (and engaging directly with clients on) some of the most complex banking and finance transactions in the market. Only candidates who believe they would thrive in such an environment should apply. The group's work overlaps with many other practice areas: the successful candidates can expect to work especially closely with the restructuring and the high yield groups and to learn about those products and skill sets as well. They will also work very closely with the other banking group offices in Europe and particularly in the US and Asia. The group prides itself on working on the most complex, cross-border financing transactions rather than "cookie cutter", production line matters and has built an outstanding reputation in this regard. The close integration of the banking group on a worldwide basis means that the successful candidates will learn about techniques used around the world that can be adapted and applied to the many original situations they will experience. This will come both through formal, cross-office training and through "on-the-job" training. Much of our work is of a leveraged finance nature, both acquisition finance and other bespoke or structured products. We have established an excellent reputation as Sponsor lawyers and are in the top tier rank for such work in Chambers 2012. Our clients are predominantly borrower side but there are numerous opportunities to work for banks and underwriters as well as other lenders.
