Accepting resumes for a staff accountant. Small accounting firm in Tuscaloosa - looking to hire full-time, permanent accountant before the upcoming tax season. Salary and benefits. Only considering applicants with experience in tax accounting and MUST meet the following 3 criteria, absolutely no exceptions: 1. 4 year degree in finance / accounting 2. AT LEAST 2 years public accounting experience, preparing tax returns and bookkeeping 3. Proficient in QuickBooks & Microsoft Excel - Ultra Tax software experience is a plus In addition to 3 requirements, you must be a quick learner and able to work in fast-paced environment. Accountant will work under / along with CPAs and other staff. Main responsibilities include: - Prepare income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, non-profits & estates - Prepare weekly payroll checks & quarterly payroll tax returns for clients - Manage books for clients manually and/or electronically - Prepare all firm's clients personal property tax returns & sales tax returns
