Fund for the Public Interest: Campaign Staff DescriptionThis was the summer job of a Rhodes Scholar, Yale Law grads, the former Chief Officer of Teach for America, the Executive Director of Greenpeace USA and thousands of other public interest leaders. At the Fund for the Public Interest, we've been organizing campaigns to protect the environment and stand up for the public interest for more than 30 years. Work with us and gain valuable skills mobilizing and building citizen support, activating the media around critical issues and running petition drives for important campaigns. This summer, work on important issues, build your resume and earn money while you're at it. Earn $4,000-$6,000 this summer. Hourly wage: $9-$14/hr. (Average amount earned and hourly wage vary by location.) We are running 50 offices in over 25 states!This summer, you will gain valuable experience that you won't get anywhere else, working at the forefront of some of the most pressing issues that our country faces today. You will have the opportunity to learn how to train and develop new staff, run news conferences, and build coalitions - all while mobilizing public support on behalf of the campaign. It's like the best internship you can get, and you get paid!Hours We are running several urgent campaigns and are looking to fill positions immediately as well as for the summer. Most staff begin in May and work through August, with the possibility of continuing year-round near their schools or in the same location.
