GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process. This involves inspecting, evaluating, and evaluating electrical and mechanical systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, parts for conformance to specifications, and calibrations. The technician will collaborate with various teams to maintain and improve quality management systems, train employees, and support quality initiatives across the facility. essential functions Inspect parts for any non-conformance, such as scratches, dents, chips cracks, etc... Illinois location: Inspect wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components for assembly errors, soldering defects, and missing parts. Follow all documented procedures and instructions. APQP Team Member – Conduct risk analysis and be part of Cross Functional Team for APQP activities, able to initiate Control Plans, PFMEA, Flow Charts, Floor Layout, Capability Studies, Gage R&R, SPC, IMDS, Part Layouts. Conduct first article inspections (AS9102) and validate supplier First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify product conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. Record detailed inspection data on ATP (acceptance test procedure) such as serial numbers, part numbers, shop order numbers, and customer information. Verifies nonconforming returned goods. Maintain and update inspection files ensuring compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 standards. Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs). Assists in disposition of non-conforming products through MRB. Assists with procedures and work instructions for QA/operator functions. Responsible for equipment safety and performance. Responsible for cleanup of assigned area. Completion of all required paperwork. All other related projects as assigned by the Manager. required skills Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings. Proficiency with inspection tools such as Micro-Vu, OGP, CMM, and understanding of GD&T. Calibrate and maintain all measuring equipment ensuring compliance with industry standards . Maintain good attendance and able to work weekends as needed. Must be able to pass a drug screening. Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules and wear proper PPE. Flexibility - Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, accept innovative ideas and input positively, and be open to new work approaches and processes. education / experience requirements High school Diploma or equivalent Electrical knowledge/background preferred.
