THE ROLE We are searching for an enthusiastic Senior Data Engineer to join our Investment Technology Team. You will play a key role in shaping the future of investment data at MFS by designing, developing, and implementing data engineering and analytics solutions for our multi-asset platform. This role offers the chance to leverage your expertise in investment data, cloud platforms, and data pipelines to contribute to a long-term strategic initiative to unify our investment data. WHAT YOU WILL DO Analyze and organize raw data from different sources (vendors, data delivery methods, etc.)Maintain SQL databases.Build data models and pipelinesAutomate reports and processes to run with varying frequencies.Monitor and debug processes and report the problem to the corresponding responsible parties.Explore ways to enhance data quality, reliability, and efficiencyDevelop analytical tools and programsCollaborate with data scientists and architects on several projectsPerform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance.Work with cross functional Agile teams and DevOps principles WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.Minimum 2-5+ years of related experience in Extract, Transform, Lead (ETL) and/or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes.Extensive experience working with database management languages (SQL, NoSQL).Experience with object-oriented programing (OOP)/Scripting languages such as R or PythonExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Amazon Red Shift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).Strong technical acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking skillsAbility to work across boundaries, building cross-organizational relationships.Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (ERD, Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault) and data APIs (RESTful API). Strong desire to expand your skills through self-study, hands-on learning, and formal instruction.Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and oral) & analytical skills; must be team-oriented and deadline-driven.
