Description:

Duties--- Serve as a supply technical advisor with responsibility for providing technical guidance on supply matters.--- Perform supply functions designed to analyze and independently resolve difficult issues and problems pertaining to downrange base-support materiel-management operations.--- Recompile data required to prepare supply performance reports; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your applicationAdditional information about transcripts is in this document Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using specialized methods and techniques to collect, analyze and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs and to analyze and resolve difficult issues and problems involving base support supply operations and contracted supply operations and to find ways and means to improve system effectivenessExperience in supply operations and programs to develop and provide guidance to supported organizations and Installation staff on supply policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods in a variety of work situations involving various degrees of supply controlsExperience using operational capabilities of automated supply systems to retrieve reports and to interrogate system regarding supply usage, stock position, and contractor performance, as well as to identify and rectify problems associated with the movement of data within the systemProficient in transportation management systems to ensure that once items are identified for shipment, the tasks are efficiently performed; skillful in Army financial and accounting systems to ensure that the correct output is being passed for tracking available funds; and experience using basic contracting procedures to determine methods and procedures by which work will be accomplishedThis definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09)OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in afield which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management degreesOR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18Add the two percentagesYou will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:--- Oral Communication * Planning and Evaluating * Supply Support * Technical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09)Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.Seducation program;
