Job Title: Youth Pastor Purpose Statement: The youth ministry exists to guide 6th-12th grade students, their parents, and their leaders into a growing relationship with Jesus. To accomplish this purpose, we aim to: teach Gods word in ways that young people understand, and invite them to use their gifts and talents for God in an environment that is safe, clean, and fun.Accountability: The Youth Pastor is part of the Oasis Church Staff and is accountable to the Executive Director of Multi-Generational Ministries. About Oasis Church: Oasis Church is a Bible teaching, Jesus centered, Community Oriented church. We are passionate about presenting Jesus to those who dont know Him, and pursuing Jesus with those who do.Oasis was started by a handful of people in 2014 and has grown to over 600 people attending weekend services. We strive to be a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church that is rooted in Gods word, flourishing in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and making a significant difference in our community. Personal Requirements: A mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus Regular practice of spiritual disciplines Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit and walks in the power of the Spirit Strong relationship skills A healthy balance of work and rest in their life A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church In agreement with the doctrines of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience: Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams Ability to connect relationally with parents and children Good teaching ability and communication skills Proven ability to develop and implement strategy A willingness and ability to pioneer new things and inspire others to new initiatives 5+ years experience in Youth or Children's ministry preferred Experience in raising a family would be an asset Bible College or Seminary degree would be an asset Other qualifications and training will be considered Responsibilities : To build a discipling culture among Youth, Parents and Leaders by planning and executing youth gatherings and small groups on Sunday nights and throughout the week. Create a safe environment for Youth that encourages growth and spiritual maturity Encourage and equip parents in their role as primary disciple makers of their children Support them in teaching and mentoring their children in a life of following Christ Recruit and Equip a team of volunteers in Oasis Youth and that leads to sustainability in these ministry areas (not dependent on paid staff) Develop a Student Leadership Team who will be equipped to lead and make disciples of their peers Integrate Youth into the larger church community. Help foster an atmosphere where all ages are valued and contribute Work with children's ministry leaders to develop a coordinated curriculum for all ages that progressively teaches the Bible and models the life of Christ Be Involved in the community, seeking out relationships with those who do not know Christ. Modeling a missional lifestyle Be available to take part in Sunday morning ministry, including preaching when necessary and to help with other whole church events. Work with the Family Ministries team to create a dynamic ministry to children, youth and families Plan and execute ministry events (Camps, volunteer appreciation parties, youth nights, etc.) on a regular and as needed basis Determine, build and execute an annual budget for accomplishing the vision & purpose of the Ministry Relationships : This is a highly relational ministry and thus priority must be placed on building healthy relationships amongst youth, parents and staff The Youth Pastor knows the families of Oasis by name The Youth Pastor participates regularly in community/school events Youth and their parents who are new to Oasis are followed up in a timely manner and made to feel welcome The Youth Pastor is accessible to parents as a sounding board and to provide prayer and counsel when needed Events are planned on a regular basis that are engaging not only to church families but also those in the community
