Position: Plant Production Technician Department: Plant Reports to: Plant Production Manager Classification: Hourly The mission at Prairie Restorations, Inc. (PRI) is, To produce and provide the most ecologically appropriate plants, products and services possible to restore and manage native plant communities. This job description identifies areas of accountability. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties. These are primary responsibilities. Position Summary The Plant Production technicians are responsible for assisting in the production of native wildflowers, grasses, trees and shrubs to be installed on our projects or sold directly to customers. Duties and Responsibilities Caring for plants in the production greenhouses and plots Transplanting seedlings Selecting plants for customer orders Delivering orders Collecting Seed Weeding Assisting with inventory management Position Details Full Time and Part time Seasonal positions available Some weekend hours required-2-6 hours a day and one or two weekends per month Non-Compete Agreement Employment at PRI always included technical training as well as relationship development with clients and other outside professionals. In order to protect this investment and related company information it is necessary to require a non-compete agreement between you and Prairie Restorations, Inc. By signing this annual contract you are agreeing that you will not provide inside information to any other company engaged in native plant or seed production, native plant gardening, native plant community restoration and/or management. This specifically includes but is not necessarily limited to information relating to internal company operations and customer relationships. Taking current PRI clients to any competing organization is no acceptable by this agreement. Work Environment Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Working hours can be long and unpredictable. Physical Demands Must be able to move objects up to 40 lbs. and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs. This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
