Join our team as a Sr. Design Engineer : Rider Interface (Hybrid). Job Summary Join our team as a Electrical Systems Senior Design Engineer : Rider Interface. This position will be responsible for overall ownership of the motorcycle electrical system relating to design functions at the vehicle level, acting as the owner of their design from concept and evaluation to production launch and in:field quality control. Demonstrate understanding of specific components and vehicle system level interactions while possessing technical skills in electronic modules, software and overall system development and performance. Ensure release of a great motorcycle and riding experience. This specific role will be focused on Rider Interface systems including delivery of motorcycle hand controls, instrumentation and infotainment. Hybrid LocationPosition will be hybrid with time split between a home office and on:site at our Harley:Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI. Job Responsibilities :Deliver robust, optimized designs for vehicle functions and systems while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization.:Author requirements for vehicle functions and system architecture with focus on ISO26262 compliance. Generate plans for development and feature maturity. Partner with a cross:functional team and suppliers to meet program and build milestones. Identify risks and propose mitigations.:Verify component and system performance to H:D standards, approve supplier validation, and work with test and verification entities to ensure EE system meets or exceeds targets.:Independently solve complex technical issues by applying problem solving techniques and facilitating cross:functional engineering and test support as needed:Perform Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEAs), Design Verification Plan and Reports (DVP and Rs), analyze test results and bring closure to test findings.:Support pre:production and launch build events and participate in product test and evaluations.:Define roadmap for future features and functions with internal stakeholders to exceed rider expectations. Education Requirements Bachelors Degree Required Education Specifications This position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical Degree. Experience Requirements The successful candidate will have at minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated many of the following: :Direct motorcycle or vehicle engineering experience (e.g. automotive, power sports, construction, agriculture, aerospace, marine).:Experience developing instrument cluster and/or infotainment systems.:Understanding of whole:vehicle systems and how those systems are decomposed into the components.:Knowledge of processor:based electrical control units including electrical design, software design and integration experience.
