Paralegal, Workers Compensation (Hybrid) 112941 Zurich North America is currently hiring a Paralegal with experience in worker's compensation to join Staff Legal in Chicago, IL. Under the supervision of an attorney, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing the following legal support: legal and documentary research; draft legal documents, correspondence, and other documents of moderate complexity; and summarize depositions, medical and billing records. Work will be in support of worker's compensation claimsand will support2-3 Illinoisattorneys. In this role you will be responsible for: Monitoring case schedules and filing deadlines Summarizing depositions Assisting in hearing and trial preparation Assisting with status calls Responding to inquiries from and interacting with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses Scheduling IME's Reviewing and summarizing medical and billing records Evaluating wage statements Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation, electronically Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed Tracking billable hours Basic Qualifications: Associate Degree in Law or Paralegal Studies and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree in Law or Paralegal Studies and 4 or more years of experience in the Legal Support area AND Experience conducting electronic database research Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings Experience in litigation legal support Preferred: Bachelor's degree Experience in Worker's Compensation Litigation experience Insurance industry experience Strong Microsoft Office skills CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP) PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP) Certified Paralegal (CP) Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) Professional Paralegal (PP) As a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to any COVID-related health and safety protocols in place at that time ( https://www.zurichna.com/careers/faq ).
