Job Description:RMT Technology Manager - CB4 - NM Job DescriptionJob Description * 50% Portfolio Management and Team Execution * Participate in defining, communicating and aligning RMT strategy with overall Technology and business strategies. * Develop and track progress of key performance indicators of RMT. Prepare reports and dashboards and regularly communicate status of programs to RMT Director, RMT Regional Program Managers, Procurement counterparts and other internal stakeholders. * Manage and maintain a pipeline of global projects with input from Procurement and Business stakeholders and drive prioritization through Matched-Pairs. Align resource allocation with project priorities and budget. Provide management oversight and project governance through effective use of the stage-gate process. * Interact with Suppliers to define RM specifications; in some cases, develop new suppliers for key raw materials to ensure supply security and raw material quality. * Manage the operations of the team and lab facility, leading employees to meet organization's goals on safety, quality, and productivity. Develop and implement staffing plans, OPEX and CAPEX budgets. * Maintain communication practices through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication. * Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures. * 30% People and Talent Management * Translate business objectives into RMT goals that cascade into SMART goals for each team member. * Recruit, on-board, train and provide oversight to people managers and key technical talent * Lead employees using performance management processes and tools to engage and encourage employee contribution in goal setting, ongoing feedback, recognition, and performance reviews, including corrective and disciplinary actions, when necessary. * Engage employees in career development planning and support employee growth and development; identify and develop future managers and subject matter experts. * Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that encourages a growth mindset, allowing for disagreement over ideas, expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity. * Create an environment that shapes a team culture rooted in Axalta values and behaviors that promotes "One Axalta." * Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. * 20% Technical Execution * Act as RMT Technology leader and toolbox owner as assigned in the Technology-Procurement Matched-Pairs teams.Qualification * Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; advance degrees preferred * 10+ years of work experience in progressively complex, matrixed environment * 5+ years' experience managing technical professionals * Technical knowledge and experience in a Coatings environment, managing product development/optimization and product support programs * Familiarity with manufacturing coatings environment * Business acumen and knowledge of basic economics and budgeting. * Effective written and oral communication skills and organizational management skills * Spoken and written technical English language is essential. * Project Management knowledge and capability * Familiarity with Stage-Gate processes, formula managements tools, CRM, SAP is a plus * General knowledge of various country employment laws and practices and employee relations * Ability to practice a high level of confidentialityKey Behavioral Competencies: * A change agent that has successful track record of building strategic relationships with key stakeholders globally. * Action and results oriented.
