DRIVER SERVICES SUMMARY: Address dispatch/driver conflicts Driver orientation paperwork – Developing a hands-on training program Contacting the drivers regarding missing paperwork. Investigate the cause; bill of ladings, computer receipts, etc. Calling new drivers DAILY during 1st two weeks of employment Schedule driver’s PTO request; goal is to limit to 7 drivers off during any one week Address needs from both Dispatch and drivers; training issues Keeping a watchful eye for unread messages from drivers Assist in finding fuel stops Assist in finding Truck Stops Car Rentals as needed for driver’s (personal) Hotel/Motel Reservations as needed Random calls to drivers Be the ear for the driver; plead case to dispatch of drivers’ concerns to see if/what can be worked out Assist and find safe parking for Drivers, develop a data base Develop and manage the Stay Metrics Program for Driver Awards DRIVER RECRUITING SUMMARY: Serves as contact for all DOT applicantsSupports new-hire orientationsUses interview and questioning techniques to determine if the applicant is qualified for the position. Use TenStreet and Hire Right to process the driver candidate.Answers all questions applicants may have about company policies and procedures including pay, routes, planning, and benefits. Prioritizes qualified applicants for processing purposes. Completes verification process in a timely fashion. Maintains contact with applicant, making initial offers of employment and scheduling applicant to attend company orientation. Work with Safety regarding application/background status review for potential hires. Meets with employees to discuss issues, retraining needs, conflict resolution, and other topics as necessary to meet and exceed driver retention goals. Researches new driver recruiting opportunities and works with agencies, organizations, training schools and other sources to develop appropriate strategies to take advantage of those markets. Evaluates the driver market to help keep the company competitive in pay and benefits and to discover new techniques and strategies for recruiting qualified drivers. Recommends and assists in evaluation of drivers with bonus programs, annual performance reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Notify Billings HR personnel in advance of all new hire schedules so required system information can be input prior to orientation to facilitate our COMPLI on boarding process and training. (normally 24 hrs. prior to start date) Ensure newly hired personnel bring proof of employability with them to their first day of orientation and run E-Verify and ensure I-9 compliance. Compli orientation and training must be completed prior to any work being completed by the new hire (contingency offer, I-9, W-4, direct deposit information, verification of a review and signed job description including assigned work hours and direct report/ support information, Pre-employment testing results must be received prior to start of any work for DTS.
