Assistant/Associate Clinical or Tenure-Track Professor of Social Work Social Work Department College of Health Sciences University of Michigan-Flint Be at the forefront of change and become a part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team at the University of Michigan-Flint's Social Work Department in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences ! The Social Work Department is searching for an Assistant or Associate Professor in either a tenure or clinical track for the new MSW program. The program aims to achieve CSWE pre-candidacy status by summer 2024 and Initial Accreditation by fall 2024. This is a full time instructional position. This hybrid position requires regular presence on campus. We seek to hire faculty whose scholarship and expertise focus on clinical social work, mental and behavioral health practice, and social work practice in health care settings. The College of Health Sciences is located in the William S. White Building on the beautiful UM-Flint campus. To learn more about the University of Michigan-Flint campus, click here . Currently, faculty in the College of Health Sciences are required to report to campus minimally two days a week. This is subject to change based on program, department, college or university needs. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching: Teach in both the BSW and MSW program. Scholarship: Develop and maintain a scholarly agenda according to the College of Health Sciences scholarship requirements for Tenure- or Clinical-Track Faculty and accreditation criteria. Service: All CHS faculty members are expected to provide service to the University, college, department, profession and the community. Consistent with the mission of CHS and the University, professional service contributions to the Flint and regional community are valued as well as national and international contributions. Required Qualifications: An MSW from a CSWE accredited program and an accredited University A degree in Social Work or a closely related field as outlined below: For a Clinical-Track Professor position, an MSW from a CSWE accredited program is required. For a Tenure-Track position , a Ph.D. or other academic doctoral degree in a relevant discipline is required. A minimum of 2 years of full-time post-MSW professional practice experience in Mental Health, Behavioral Health, or Social Work in Health Care Settings. For a Clinical-Track Assistant Professor position, a minimum of three years of full-time relevant post MSW clinical experience. For a Clinical-Track Associate Professor position , a minimum of five years full-time relevant post MSW clinical experience. Eligibility for a tenure-track or clinical-track associate professor position is assessed upon hire according to the College of Health Sciences Promotion and Tenure Guidelines. Experience teaching or student mentoring in higher education. Evidence of a commitment to promote diversity, inclusion and engagement Desired Qualifications: Eligibility for professional social work licensure in the state of Michigan Experience teaching BSW or MSW courses at a CSWE-accredited program in all teaching modes, including online and face-to-face courses An interest in Trauma-informed Social Work Practice Demonstrated commitment to student-centered pedagogy, mentorship, and ability to work effectively with culturally heterogeneous student population Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within unit and across UM-Flint Experience conducting community-engaged research and/or successful collaboration with community partners Substantial experience with CSWE accreditation and reaffirmation at the BSW or MSW level School Social Work Certification How to Apply :To be considered for this position, interested candidates must complete the online application through Interfolio ( https://apply.interfolio.com/145158 ) and upload the following required documents:1.
