DescriptionUDR , Inc. is now hiring a Senior Operations Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch. GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Focused on supporting the company's operational objectives through data analytics and strategic recommendations. Provide a combination of financial and operational analysis, business intelligence, market research, and reporting for the VP of Property Operations. Assist the group with detailed analytics of the multifamily operating portfolio that drives decision making and value creation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Leverage the company's internal dashboards and reporting software to conduct detailed analyses of financial, operational, and capital performance. Make strategic recommendations on operational and asset management focused strategies based on produced analyses. Build Excel based financial models that allow the company to better understand its performance at an asset and portfolio level. Identify and implement revenue enhancing, expense saving, and capital deployment opportunities that create value for the enterprise. Work in conjunction with leaders out in the field to drive results relative to the company's Business Plan and Wall Street earnings guidance. Follow-up regularly with the teams in the field to ensure strategies are working and adjust as necessary. Support with the production of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for both the Operations and Investor Relations departments. Address ad hoc data analytics and reporting requests when they arise. Execute process improvement opportunities as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements. Knowledge and understanding of business research principals, process, and techniques. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday company issues. Demonstrated ability to develop an in-depth understanding of company markets and identify and communicate relevant information. Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent people skills are required. Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications solutions and decisions. Ability to demonstrate and execute practical and effective solutions to problems. Ability to analyze data and recommend strategy. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Perform duties that require considerable initiative, independent judgment, and strong communication skills. Must have the ability to manage workload, to develop efficient and effective processes that impact the entire organization, and to communicate with managers and staff at all levels of the organization. Ability to travel, when applicable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, and the Executive Team. Ability to work in conjunction with Company managers, property management teams, vendors and associates. Knowledge of fiscal management and office management techniques with strong skills regarding spreadsheets, word processing and database applications. Strong experience and demonstrated aptitude with MS Excel, and some experience with MS Access and business intelligence tools. Ability to quickly learn new computer systems financial systems and business processes. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive research and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics: or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum three to five years' experience in a real estate position, preferably REIT experience with a concentration in finance and operations. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.
