Job Description Billing & Settlement Clerk, Trucking - Decatur, ILThis is a full time, non-exempt position.Position Summary:In this dynamic, customer service driven environment the Billing & Settlement Clerk will interact with a diverse workforce including drivers, colleagues and managers. The Billing & Settlement clerk is responsible for ensuring proper billing of freight to customers and correct settlement to professional drivers.Job Responsibilities:Accurately process shipments for driver payroll, meeting weekly and monthly deadlinesEnsure delivered loads bill the correct party for the correct amount, including ensuring proper accessorial charges are billedSolving relatively complex problems related to compensationClosing trips for outside locationsCoordinating and processing any irregular payments and fuel chargesDevelop understanding of union and non-union payroll policies to research and answer questions from drivers/hourly employees regarding payroll mattersWork with managers to ensure proper documentation for worked and earned compensation is processedJob Requirements:General office, accounting and/or Trucking experience preferredAbility to learn and understand Trucking industry practicesExcellent data entry, keyboard and ten key skillsProficient in the use of a multi-line telephoneBasic understanding of mathematical/accounting procedures is requiredPayroll experience is helpfulAttention to detail with the ability to locate discrepancies is essential for this positionKnowledge of OPGO, CICS, and IMS systems preferredProficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phonePhysical requirements include standing, filing, bending, keyboard and scanner operations, sitting for extended periods of time and working on the telephoneExcited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
