Steelgem provides Marketing and IT Services to multiple healthcare services within its organizations. Steelgem offices are located in Santa Ana, California, with some remote/hybrid staff located through-out the United States. Our main office resides in the heart of downtown Santa Ana, close to multiple restaurants, bars, train stations, and parking areas. This job is remote with some travel required for training and projects. Steelgem is seeking a talented software engineer for the Development team. This role will report to the Senior Director of DevOps and will cover many different technologies and responsibilities. The ideal engineer for this role will be someone who is flexible and knows multiple languages, toolchains, and development libraries. The DevOps team at Steelgem is responsible for building internal applications, internal automations, and products that are designed for external customers. There is tremendous opportunity to grow with this organization and get experience with the latest technologies. Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Participates in gathering software requirements and develops requirement specifications, user stories, functional and technical design specifications, user manuals, and/or release notes by collaborating with stakeholders. Develops and supports front-end software applications including the areas of user interfaces, mobility, business intelligence and reporting, and enterprise content management by utilizing various development tools. Develops and supports middle-tier software applications including the areas of web services application integration, business process management, business rules, API governance, and application security by utilizing various development tools. Develops and supports back-end software applications in the areas of data integration and data replication, data modeling, data security, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and database management by utilizing various developmental tools. Develops and/or supports tools and automation processes including the areas of release management, configuration management, source control, and operational support by utilizing various developmental tools. Provides support pertaining to application issues in various environments (e.g., development, quality assurance, training, production) by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving application function problems. Researches application development tools and methodologies by utilizing various reference tools in order to provide recommendations to departmental management team for improving software. Qualifications include but are not limited to: Experience working in a remote environment. Strong Knowledge of Go/NodeJS/Python Development. Basic Knowledge of MongoDB and Postgres. Ansible / Terraform Knowledge. Basic Server Administration Knowledge. GitLab/Git VCS Knowledge. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Experience with designing and implementing high volume web services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven ability to work with team members to deliver projects on deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Four years experience in Software Development. Building Web, Mobile, or Embedded Applications Desirable Skills/Abilities include but are not limited to: Google/AWS/RHEL/GitLab Certifications Advanced Knowledge of MongoDB and Postgres History of Open Source Contributions Mobile application development experience Job Status: Full-Time Location: Santa Ana, CA - remote position is available.
