Summary The Athletic Training (AT) program within the University of Michigan, School of Kinesiology invites applications for a Lecturer I position, appointed by semester, commencing July 1, 2024. This posting may be filled by multiple candidates, with each position consisting of 1 to 2 lecture sections, depending on the candidate's interest, qualifications, and availability. Each lecture section equates to a 50% compressed Half Summer Term appointment (July 1 - August 25, 2024).The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for teaching AT 501 (3 credit hours) and / or AT 502 (3 credit hours) Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries and Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries Laboratory. These courses are designed to introduce students to the basic concepts in and techniques used for the prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment and emergency management of injuries common to athletes and those with active lifestyles. Responsibilities* Instructional duties include but are not limited to: Provide high quality instruction during the Summer 2024 term. Create / contribute to course syllabus and lesson plan. Produce relevant and reliable assessment tools and conduct routine assessments to evaluate student progress throughout the semester. Maintain student progress and attendance records and determine and enter final grades for the course. Meet with students and attend meetings, as needed. Required Qualifications* The successful candidate must have earned a master's degree (PhD preferred), be BOC certified, and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Michigan. The candidate must also have relevant teaching experience in an Athletic Training program.
