Position Summary: Our client, a leading industry player, is seeking a dedicated Scale Clerk to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations through accurate monetary transactions, document management, and customer service excellence. The Scale Clerk will also support shipping and receiving activities, ensuring a smooth and productive workflow. Key Responsibilities: Customer Interaction : Offer a warm welcome to all customers and employees, providing direction and assistance within the facility. Address customer inquiries and complaints, offering effective solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction. Transaction Handling : Conduct transactions accurately, handling cash, credit, or check payments, and ensuring correct pricing and change. Enter and track weight information from scales into the computer system, securing necessary approvals and maintaining transaction accuracy. Data and Inventory Management : Engage in daily inventory management activities, including cycle counts, to ensure inventory accuracy. Maintain transaction records and manage documentation efficiently. Facility Maintenance : Uphold cleanliness and orderliness in the work and loading areas, contributing to a positive environment. Sales and Service : Assist in sales referrals and cross-selling products to enhance customer service and drive business growth. Qualifications : Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar role, supported by strong mathematical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in data entry. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Physical ability to perform job tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving as required. Bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
