Position Details: --- Title: Service Technician --- Locations: o Atlanta, GA and Waycross, GA o Nashville, TN o Charleston / Greer, SC o San Antonio / Austin, TX o Davidson, NC o Edison, NJ o Tonawanda, NY o Detroit / Livonia, MI o Elmhurst / Chicago, IL o Menomonee Falls, WI o East Syracuse, NY; Indianapolis, IN o Phoenix, AZ o New Orleans, LA --- Travel/Schedule: You generally will be home every night, servicing customers during the day in your local territory. The only overnight travel requirements will be occasional training. --- Compensation: Target base salary -$25/hr - $32/hr depending on experience o Bonuses/Additional Compensation: company vehicle, company iPhone / iPad, tool allownace. --- Benefits: Company offers an outstanding, comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical / Dental Insurance; Life / AD&D Insurance; Flexible Spending Accounts; Short- and Long-Term Disability; 3 weeks annual vacation; 11 annual holidays; Tuition Reimbursement; 401K with employer match; Discount Programs; Parental Leave; Employee Stock Grant; etc Position Description: The Field Service Technician for Company's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment. Some other specific responsibilities include: --- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers. --- Provide technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems, including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician. --- Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment. --- Document service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets. --- Increase customers' awareness of how Company products, services and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations. --- Maintain rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements. --- Explain practices, procedures and policies to reach agreement with suppliers and others outside of the job area. --- Ensure proper operation of compressed air equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and 47-point inspections on a wide variety of compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers and additional compressed air components. You will receive significant OEM training, including being paired with a Master Technician for job shadowing/OJT for the first 90 days and quarterly IR-branded classroom and on-line training. In order to be successful in this role, you should have a working knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems, ideally rotary and centrifugal air compressors, pumps, dryers, cooling towers, filtration systems, HVAC, AC/DC circuits, motors/controls, etc. You must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. You should also have good computer skills (MS Office, basic networking, etc.).
