<p>Roche Sequencing Solutions in Santa Clara is developing a nanopore sequencing<br />technology to improve the lives of people in a wide variety of applications, including the<br />timely screening of newborns for diseases and the diagnosis of cancers and infectious<br />diseases. Developing this unique platform requires expertise across a range of fields:<br />Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Information Theory,<br />Biophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Protein Engineering, Digital and Analog Circuit Design,<br />and Electrochemistry.<br />We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of Nanopore Platform<br />Development group. The Wafer Technician will be required to directly support and<br />primary routine lab equipment and process & testing support, utilizing their experience<br />in MEMS and semiconductor fabs to ensure a robust product line.<br /><br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES:<br />● Perform engineering experiments by following instructions<br />● Process and test wafers and parts using defined procedures<br />● Perform visual inspections<br />● Operate testing instrument and inspection equipment (optical microscope,<br />SEM, etc) and interpret results<br />● Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of<br />Control conditions including defect troubleshooting<br />● Recover from process and tool interruptions<br />● Use standard software applications and specific programs creating reports and<br />documenting procedures<br />● Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool<br />availability, cycle time, utilization and cost<br />● Complete all required reporting and documentation<br />● Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and<br />requirements<br />● Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and on the<br />Emergency Response Team<br />● Train new team members<br />● Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all<br />Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs<br /><br />EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br />● High School Degree (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience<br />● Experience with wafer manufacturing and assembly of complex<br />electro-mechanical devices, preferably of a microfluidic, biological lab-on-a-chip<br />purpose a plus<br />● Strong team player with ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team<br />environment<br />● Exceptional oral and written communication skills<br />● Exceptional detail-oriented execution of job function required<br />● Ability to work independently and with others as a team<br />● Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor<br />protocol/requirements</p><p> </p><p>Onsite Position - Local Candidates<br />Pay Range: $30 - $36/hr.</p><p>- Health, Dental, Vision, 401k</p>
