BUXMONT ACADEMY: WHO WE ARE Buxmont Academy has six campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Our teachers, counselors, and support staff work together to build a healthy community environment for our students. MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Primary responsibilities for the special education teacher position include providing 1-on-1 and small group tutoring to students grades 7-12, creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP), and conducting IEP meetings. Your days will involve providing support and guidance to students, collaborating with colleagues to create inclusive learning environments, and implementing innovative teaching strategies. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or higher level of education, and either PA special education certification or the ability to obtain certification. We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom! WHAT MATTERS MOST To excel as a Special Education Teacher at Buxmont Academy, you'll need strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong organization and time-management skills will help you juggle multiple responsibilities and create a student-centered classroom environment.
