Practice Area: Family Law - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, A law firm in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an Entry-Level Associate Attorney with a strong interest in domestic law. The ideal candidate will be involved in handling cases related to divorce, child custody/support, adoptions, domestic violence, and protective orders. This role requires active participation in litigation, including attending return hearings and pretrial conferences. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a significant advantage. The firm offers a supportive environment conducive to growth and learning and a comprehensive benefits package.Duties:Assist in handling legal matters in areas of domestic law, including divorce, child custody, support issues, adoptions, and protective orders.Conduct and assist with legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.Attend and actively participate in return hearings and pretrial conferences under the guidance of experienced attorneys.Draft legal documents and correspondences as directed by supervising attorneys.Engage in client consultations and maintain effective communication throughout the case process.Collaborate with legal staff and other attorneys to provide excellent legal services and client satisfaction.Develop litigation skills under the mentorship of senior attorneys, including learning to manage various aspects of trial preparation and execution.Requirements:Must be a member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.A demonstrated interest in domestic law and litigation.Proficiency in legal research and strong analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Spanish language fluency is highly desirable.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Education:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership and good standing with the Virginia State Bar.Skills:Strong interpersonal and client management skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.Proficient in using legal research tools and software.Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.Benefits:401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions.Comprehensive health insurance, including dental and vision coverage.Health savings account (HSA).Life insurance.Paid time off for vacations, personal health, and wellness.Retirement planning options.
