Location: Carroll Family Healthcare Position: Medical Assistant Administrative tasks: Utilizing computer applications Answering telephones/Greeting patients Updating patient medical records Coding and filling out insurance forms Scheduling appointments Arranging hospital admissions/ laboratory services/ testing/ prior authorizations Clinical tasks: Obtaining a good medical history Updating medication list Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examination Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens Performing basic laboratory tests Instructing patients about mediations and special diets (per doctor's orders) Preparing and administering medications as directed by physician (injections and immunizations) Authorizing prescription refills- reviewing OARRS report Obtaining EKGs Removing sutures/ changing dressings/ performing ear flushes Taking and updating inventory of medical supplies and vaccines Stocking rooms and cart Preparing schedules/ records for next day operations Completing phone messages. Review open orders from patients to ensure that these were completed and follow up as needed Obtaining prior authorizations as needed for testing/ procedures/ medications. Review and respond to office messages/ patient messages as needed. Review and keep MA folder current. Complete yearly patient wellness packets for appropriate insurance groups Please note this position is posted on behalf of our partner practices.
