The role involves providing legal counsel on various personnel matters, handling employment litigation, addressing restrictive covenants, managing labor issues, and addressing cases related to employment discrimination.Job DutiesProvide legal counsel and advice on employment-related matters, including personnel issues and compliance with employment laws.Handle employment litigation cases, representing the firm's clients in court and administrative proceedings.Address issues related to restrictive covenants, ensuring compliance with legal standards and protecting the interests of the firm's clients.Manage labor-related matters, including negotiations, disputes, and collective bargaining agreements.Investigate and respond to employment discrimination claims, taking appropriate legal action when necessary.Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and court pleadings.Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive legal advice.RequirementsAt least 3 years of experience as an attorney, focusing on employment law counseling or litigation.Proven experience providing legal counsel on personnel matters, employment litigation, restrictive covenants, labor issues, and employment discrimination.A proactive, detail-oriented, and organized approach to work.Excellent academic credentials and strong legal writing skills.Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Iowa.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the State Bar in Iowa.SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.Proficiency in legal research and writing.Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations.
