Description:
The QA / QC inspector will be responsible for monitoring all required quality requirements of the project, ensuring that the work being completed meets the requirements of the contract documents and Inserv quality requirements. This position is tasked with conducting inspections, analyzing measurements, generating quality reports, the assembly of the final turnover package, and communicating with the client during all phases of construction. Reporting Structure: This position will report to the Corporate Quality Manager. This position works in conjunction with the site superintendent while assigned to a job. Location: This position will be assigned to a specific project(s) and will work either in the fab shop during pre-fabrication or in the field during installation Responsibilities: Understand the InServ Corporate QA/QC organization manual. Assist the project team in the preparation of the site quality plan and work with the client to ensure acceptance of this plan. Review QA/QC Procedures as well as Inspection and Test Plans submitted by Sub-Contractors and ensure compliance during installation. Prepare and regularly (weekly) submit reports and maintain records. Manage the quality assurance/quality control function on-site on various project phases Prepare project site related reports and presentations as required and produce performance measurement tools to monitor the Contractor's and project performance Inspect purchased equipment for installation on site for defects and compliance with submittals. Inspect materials when they arrive on site. Ensure that the equipment and materials are free from defects and meet the requirements of the contract documents. Ensure that the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Method Statements are implemented in the shop and on site and the inspection hold points required are coordinated with the Project Team. Work with the site superintendent to coordinate inspection activities with installation activities. Monitor activities on site and ensure their compliance with the accepted QA/QC quality plan. Coordinate inspections and tests with the owner/CM QA/QC Manager and/or local authorities. Accept or reject in process work and discussing the results with the project team. Stop work when there are serious violations of the site-specific quality control plan or accepted installation procedures. Recommend process changes on any rejected inspections to ensure passing results. Collect and assemble all quality documentation and assist the PM with the production of the final turnover package. Hold weekly site-based quality meetings with the InServ and subcontractor crews to review quality findings, review KPIs, discuss any quality incidents, and report other quality related news. Mentor and train the field staff when errors in technique or installation are noted. Inform the site superintendent and project manager if there is greater cause for concern. Qualifications: Some sort of experience in construction is preferred. Some sort of prior involvement in any form of QA/QC inside or outside of construction is preferred. Must be proficient in MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of responsibilities while maintaining strong attention to detail. Work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment within the organization. Physical Demands This position is regularly required to: Walk, climb stairs, sit, squat, and stand Speak clearly and hear at normal levels Operate a motor vehicle Able to negotiate the hazards commonly associated with an industrial construction worksite General: These items are required as a condition of employment: You must pass a motor vehicle report (MVR) to InServ requirements You must have a current NC Driver’s License You must pass a background check and drug test You must provide proof of US citizenship
