Summary Department Summary The Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR), a unit in the division of Student Life, promotes a safe and scholarly community in which students navigate conflict in a peaceful, socially just, and self-reflexive manner. OSCR Staff provide equitable, education-focused, and supportive resources under the University of Michigan Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct (SGBM) and related Student Procedures, including the facilitation of SGBM education, interventions, resolution pathways, and reintegration measures. Job Summary As the SGBM Program Lead for Adaptable Resolution, you will embody the philosophies and principles of restorative justice, social justice, and conflict transformation and have cultural competence and expertise in working with diverse populations. You will facilitate all OSCR SGBM programs, with a focus on the facilitation, coordination, and management of Adaptable Resolution.To view the full job description click here . Why Work at Michigan? Benefits include: Generous time off A retirement plan that provides two-for-one matching contributions with immediate vesting Many choices for comprehensive health insurance Life insurance Long-term disability coverage Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses Responsibilities* Lead the Adaptable Resolution program, and serve as Adaptable Resolution Coordinator, under the University of Michigan Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct and related student procedures Develop a comprehensive education and outreach strategy to bring awareness to OSCR and its SGBM Programs, including Adaptable Resolution Assess requests for Adaptable Resolution, conduct intake meetings, facilitate processes, and help draft resolution agreements as outlined in the University of Michigan Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct and related student procedures Manage Adaptable Resolution processes, and monitor for completion of sanctions/educational measures reached through voluntary agreement Oversee approximately 3 graduate student staff, interns, practicum students, and volunteers Reports directly to the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Conflict Resolution responsible for oversight of Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct Programs Directly responsible for annual operating budget of $2,500 Required Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Experience in applicable areas of responsibility such as student development, ethical development, social identity development, leadership development, community building, social justice, restorative justice, conflict resolution theory, motivational interviewing, and related theories of human motivation, change, and development. Client/student support experience related to SGBM and trauma. Content and facilitation expertise in restorative practices, conflict transformation, student development, community development, and engagement (or related fields). Experience working with diverse communities in culturally competent ways. Work Locations This position is hybrid in a typical office environment at the Ann Arbor, MI Campus location. Requires some evening or weekend hours. Additional Information Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2024 or after, will not be eligible for the university FY24-25 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.
