Practice Area: Corporate - M&A, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 6 Years, A law firm is seeking an FIG and Strategy - Practice Team Associate Attorney for their New York City office. The FIG and Strategy - Practice Team Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel supporting the FIG (Financial Institutions Group) and Strategy groups. This role involves working directly with investment professionals and in-house counsel on strategic transactions, fund-related matters, and general legal support for the FIG and Strategy groups. The candidate will also work closely with the general counsels of platform companies to support their legal needs. Responsibilities include assisting on transactions of varying scale and scope, board administration for FIG platform companies, fund-related matters, drafting commercial agreements, and providing counsel on disclosures and marketing materials. The ideal candidate should have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted in good standing to the New York Bar, and have experience advising asset management firms (preferred). Superior interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory representatives, and outside vendors. Duties:Provide legal advice and counsel to the FIG and Strategy groups.Work directly with investment professionals and in-house counsel on strategic transactions.Assist on transactions involving the FIG and/or Strategy groups or FIG platform companies.Assist with board administration and governance matters for FIG platform companies.Provide general legal support to the FIG and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies.Build relationships and partner closely with business leadership, portfolio managers, and other leads across in-house legal and portfolio/platform companies.Assist with fund-related matters.Review and draft commercial agreements for in-house legal and FIG platform companies.Review and provide counsel on disclosures and marketing materials. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.Admitted in good standing to the New York Bar.6+ years of relevant legal experience in the MA area of a top-tier law firm or in the in-house legal department of a registered investment advisor, hedge fund, or fund of funds.Experience advising asset management firms is preferred.Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.Exceptional written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications:Admitted in good standing to the New York Bar. Skills:Proficiency in MA transactions and fund-related matters.Strong understanding of financial institutions and investment strategies.Ability to work closely with investment professionals and in-house counsel.Excellent research and analytical skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
