Description:
Position: Heavy Equipment Operator -Location: Sarasota/Bradenton, South Florida Job Summary: Operating various power construction equipment to lift, move, and excavate waste, fill materials, and supplies with a focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, loading/unloading materials, and moving items within designated areas while adhering to safety regulations. Qualifications: • Minimum of two years of experience operating heavy equipment, particularly dozers and excavators.• Must reside in the South Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area. Schedule: • Full-time position with Monday-Friday availability and occasional weekends. Benefits: Competitive benefits package including: • 401(k) with matching• Dental, health, and vision insurance• Paid time off (PTO), sick time, and holidays Responsibilities:• Operate heavy equipment following all safety procedures• Ensure the heavy equipment remains in clean working order and promptly report any issues to the supervisor• Maintain a safe and compliant work area at all times• Fulfill any other assigned duties as needed Qualifications: Physical Requirements: • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions• Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals• Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification• Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools• Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.• Lifting: able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.• Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel• Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information• Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements Education: • High School Diploma or equivalent Required: • Pass a drug Screen and a background check Compensation: $20 - $22 hourly About Company: At GWST - Sarasota, our mission is to provide local communities with outstanding customer service and an “easy to do business with” culture.
