Specific topics and issues to be covered include, for example, poverty, work, interaction trade, human trafficking and safety. Topics will be explored across multiple scales including bodies, home, neighbourhood and community. This course fulfills 1 field day. [24L, 12T] Class Schedule: LEC0101 Wednesdays 3 - 5pm TUT0101 Thursdays 2 - 3pm TUT0102 Thursdays 3 - 4pm TUT0103 Thursdays 4 - 5pm Estimated enrolment: 75 TA support: subject to final enrolment numbers Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90 Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from the rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications: Ph. D or Ph D candidate in human geography or a related field. Previous experience teaching a similar course, and evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course would be an asset. Description of Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TA’s assigned to course; order all necessary readings. The mode of instruction for this course is scheduled to be in-person. However, if this changes for any reason, you will be provided with as much advance notice as practicable. Application.
