General Accountabilities: Report to the Special Studies Manager, System Planning Department, assist in technical impact backssments and other specialized studies to determine transmission and distribution customer/system needs; assist in the analysis of problems and the development of strategies, alternatives and preferred solution; and assist in the delivery of solutions through suppliers and service providers. Assist in the development, definition and preparation of methods related to the management of transmission/distribution assets. Responsibilities include: Carry out conventional and non-conventional engineering studies in a number of subject areas such as: Short circuit, load-flow, and EMTP studies Induction co-ordination and EMF induction issues. Protective equipment specification Grounding, and bonding studies (both transient and steady-state) Investigation of equipment failure Overvoltage simulation and backssment, including lightning and switching transients, resonance, etc. Power quality and the impact of non-conventional generation on the operation of the power system. Equipment rating and lifetime utilization Assist in managing the power quality meter installation programs and other power quality related projects. Assist in the analysis of problems, development of strategies, alternatives and preferred solutions. Assist in the preparation of comprehensive reports. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
