Summary: Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a research and development (R&D) laboratory, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. This includes managing laboratory staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all laboratory procedures and protocols are followed. Responsibilities: Supervise laboratory staff, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and providing guidance and training as needed. Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, repair, and maintenance. Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining records, and tracking usage. Ensure that laboratory safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and emergency response procedures. Participate in the development and implementation of new research projects, including designing experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports. Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, quality control, and production, to ensure that laboratory results are integrated into the overall product development process. Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including experimental data, test results, and equipment maintenance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Stay up to date with the latest developments in the field, including new technologies, techniques, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. 3+ years of laboratory experience, including experience in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, including safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements. Strong Analytic/Troubleshooting Skills. Strong Communication Skills. Strong Customer Support Skills. Strong Analytical skills Procurement Experience Experienced Experience with laboratory equipment, including calibration, repair, and maintenance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, other departments, and external partners. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software tools. Knowledge of relevant regulations, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. The Laboratory Supervisor is a critical role in the R&D laboratory, ensuring that all laboratory activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. The supervisor must have strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, including safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements. The supervisor must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, other departments, and external partners. Additionally, the supervisor must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports.
