ALMHopewell Center provides comprehensive mental health services to children andadults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St.Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronicallymentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. Hopewell Centeroperates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive PsychiatricRehabilitation Center for adults and youth. The candidate will assistspatients and their families with personal and environmental difficultiesthrough assessment and individualized intervention. EssentialDuties and Responsibilities: Works in close collaboration with physicians andother health care personnel in patient evaluation and treatment to furthertheir understanding of significant social and emotional factors underlyingpatient's health problem. Helps patient and family through individual or group conferences to understand, accept, and follow medical recommendations. Provides service planned to restore patient to optimum social and health adjustment within patient's capacity via social work intervention and/or Mental Health counseling. Utilizes community resources to assist patient to resume life in community or to learn to live within limits of disability. Prepares patient histories, service plans, and reports. Participates in planning for improving health services by interpreting social factors pertinent to development of program/direct patient care. Identifies patients who are socially high risk, assesses psychosocial needs and develops a plan and implements. Provides needed information and referrals to patients and their families in an appropriate and timely manner. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with community service organizations and public agencies to ensure maximum access to information and services. In addition to the duties listed, all opportunities require a passion to serve the community and health of the patients we serve. Education and/or Experience: Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor or Provisionally Licensed Clinical Social Work, currently under supervision (Fully Licensed Professional preferred). Master's Degree from an accredited school in Social Work, Psychology or Professional Counseling. Training and experience in at least one Evidence Based Practice. Twoyears of clinical experience. Must have excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
