SynchronyHR, a growing and dynamic provider of outsourced HR, Payroll, Employee Benefits and Risk Management Services is looking for a Benefits Specialist to manage and act as a primary resource for clients and worksite employees regarding our Employee Benefit programs. If you are looking for an opportunity to provide exceptional customer service, manage multiple tasks and projects at a time, expand your benefits proficiency, and create a positive experience for employees, clients and carriers, then this position is for you! The ideal candidate for the Benefits Specialist position has a minimum 5 years of carrier, broker or corporate benefits experience, possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, brings critical thinking skills and technology competencies to problem solving, and is interested in being a key player on a growing team. This is either a hybrid position working from our St. Louis office or can be remote if candidate is outside of St. Louis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: New Clients Coordinate client onboarding activities with Sales team and benefits sales to ensure a smooth transition for new clients. Set expectations with client on benefit enrollment activities timing and delivery. Participate in daily/weekly Kanban meetings as required. Build benefit guide and work with Benefits team to build plans, workflows and testing as required. Ensure Peer review of your work at all times. Monitor benefit enrollment activities and keep communication open with client throughout enrollment window. Work with employees to assist in enrollment as needed. Communicate final enrollment to stakeholders and ensure COBRA, TPA, Carriers, Brokers, Payroll, etc are updated as required. Benefit Management Provide consultative service to clients and employees as needed throughout the year to support the best use of benefit plans. Assist with employee questions as needed. To further our “Raving Fan” initiative, reach out to clients with Benefits communications, hints or tips monthly via email, phone etc. to answer questions, suggest best use of PrismHR. Get to know your clients and what may work best for them regarding use of technology and reporting. Ensure daily tasks such as COBRA communication, Carve-out plan adds and terms, FSA enrollments, and posting of enrollments in prism are completed timely and accurately. Open Enrollment Work throughout the year to prepare for Open Enrollment. Communicate with clients on timing, expectations, and renewal once it is available. Create renewal presentation in excel with Master plan information and options and present to client. Work with outside account executives and brokers to coordinate open enrollment activities. Update benefit guide and post it with all other relevant materials to employee portal. Work with benefits team to create new plans, add workflows and peer review all work before releasing it. Schedule employee education meetings and OE dates. Follow up as appropriate and complete final activities as mentioned above under New Clients. Other Special projects as needed. This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: Achievement-oriented -- enjoys taking on challenges Able to develop relationships with both internal and external customers Analytical Able to learn new software programs Knowledgeable on COBRA, Section 125, Healthcare Reform and other pertinent federal and state regulations related to Employee benefits. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Strong in Excel and Word and critical thinking skills required to make the most of our HRIS software, PrismHR. Exceptional in delivering excellent customer service to diverse customers with diverse needs Extremely detail-oriented An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) Positive attitude Able to work well with a team or independently Thrives in a constant, fast-paced environment Flexible Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Applicable insurance licenses preferred but not required
