As a dual-role car rental agent and car cleaner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the car rental business while maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of rental vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass both customer service and vehicle maintenance tasks. Below is a comprehensive overview of the duties and requirements for this combined position:Customer Service:Greet customers warmly and assist them with their rental needs, including vehicle selection, rental agreements, and additional services.Provide information about rental rates, insurance coverage, and rental policies.Process rental reservations accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional and courteous manner.Vehicle Cleaning and Maintenance:Clean and sanitize rental vehicles to ensure they meet company standards and are ready for customer use.Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, and floor mats.Wash and wax vehicle exteriors to maintain a clean and polished appearance.Inspect vehicles for damages, spills, or other cleanliness issues, and address them promptly.Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and exterior lighting.Rental Process Management:Coordinate with rental agents to ensure timely vehicle preparation and availability.Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out procedures, including documenting vehicle condition and mileage.Process rental payments, deposits, and returns accurately, utilizing payment systems and software.Conduct post-rental inspections to identify damages or missing items and report them to the appropriate personnel.Sales and Upselling:Promote additional services such as insurance coverage, GPS navigation systems, and fuel options to customers.Upsell upgrades or additional features to enhance the rental experience and increase revenue.Administrative Tasks:Maintain accurate records of rental transactions, vehicle maintenance, and inventory.Complete administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and inventory management as needed.Qualifications and Skills:High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality, customer service, or automotive maintenance is a plus.Previous experience in customer service, sales, or vehicle cleaning/detailing preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards.Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and cleaning techniques.Proficiency in computer applications and software, including reservation systems and MS Office suite.Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the demands of the car rental industry.This combined job description outlines the dual responsibilities of a car rental agent and car cleaner, highlighting the essential duties and qualifications required for success in this role.
