We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Certified Coder to join our team. As aCertified Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding and billing processeswithin our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medicalterminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines. Responsibilities Review medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes according to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other coding guidelines. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, and other relevant regulations. Abstract pertinent information from medical records for coding purposes. Resolve coding-related denials and discrepancies by collaborating with healthcare providers and other stakeholders. Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Stay updated on changes to coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends. Provide coding education and training to healthcare providers and staff as needed. Participate in coding audits and quality assurance activities to ensure coding accuracy and compliance. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical coding standards. Collaborate with billing and reimbursement teams to ensure accurate claims submission and reimbursement. Requirements: Certified Coding credential (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA) from AAPC or AHIMA. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding principles. Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines. Prior experience in a healthcare coding role is preferred but not required.
