Inova Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) First Assist Assistant for a nursing job in Fairfax, Virginia.Job Description & Requirements Specialty: First Assist Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Shift: nights Employment Type: StaffThe Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an RNFA to join our team!Schedule: full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week one week and 2 x 12 hour shifts the next, totaling 5 x 12 hour shifts per pay period. Hours are from 7:00pm to 7:00amSign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.The Labor and Delivery unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital located in Fairfax, Virginia has recently undergone a beautiful renovation. Our unit consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms. The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems. The usual staffing assignment consists of 1 RN for 2 laboring patients and change to 1 nurse to 1 patient based on acuity and phase of labor. The team is committed to meeting the highest standards in quality care and patient experience and is proud of their continuing Magnet status and recently earned a High-Performing rating for the first edition of Best Hospitals for Maternity by U.S. News & World Report.The RN First Assistant provides a safe/therapeutic core by collaborating with surgeons and healthcare teams in performing safe operations with optimal patient outcomes. Practices preoperative nursing and works collaboratively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and enhance outcomes. In the case of less than five years of experience, three recommendations from practicing Surgeons and demonstrated clinical practice.- Education:- Successful completion of an RFNA program that meets AORN recommended education standards for RN First Assistant programs.- BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
