POSITION SUMMARY The position of Preschool Principal/Director will be responsible for overseeing the mission, instructional design, and program quality for Future Achievers Preschool (2-5 year-olds). This role will work collaboratively with Logan Heights Community Development Corporation's (LHCDC) vision and direction. The Preschool Principal/Director of Early Childhood Education will serve as the instructional leader for faculty and staff to align CA regulations, guidelines, and standards for all students, spearhead all priorities, implement needs and goals, and maintain and sustain exceptional educational experiences for all students and families. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Preschool Representative (40%) • Serve as a leader for the school's faculty, staff, and family members involved within LHCDC to facilitate and communicate educational standard goals, objectives, outcomes, challenges, and successes regarding academic performance, health/wellness, and overall quality instruction and program sustainability; • Create, implement, and sustain a shared school vision; • Nurture and sustain inclusive culture and instructional program conducive to learning and staff development; • Collaborate with families and the diverse communities the school serves; • Promote integrity, fairness, and ethical behavior at all times; • Interact with larger political, social, legal, and cultural contexts of schooling; • Monitor student progress and provide students, teachers, and families with assistance in resolving challenges in a productive, professional manner; • Coordinates presentations for public, leadership, peer, and subordinate audiences; and • Oversees the USDA/Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and ensures compliance with state standards. Operations Management (30%) • Manage school operations to ensure a safe and effective learning environment; • Oversee and ensure the completion of routine required paperwork such as attendance reports, test results, and licensing information for students, educators, and staff; • Oversee and implement the school budget and determine and allocate funds accordingly for staff, supplies, materials, and equipment; • Determine necessary new programs and expenditures to propose, present, and seek approval for the Preschool; • Determine the scope of educational program offerings (current and future), prepare proposals for new offerings and staffing and/or facility requirements for quality programs; • Oversee and facilitate faculty/staff meetings and serve as an instructional leader and drive quality instruction, programming, and offerings aligned with CA standards, and LHCDC priorities; • Oversee faculty/staff schedules, supervise coverage and overall employee performances to ensure quality services for all students and families; • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental faculty/staff with personal accountability actions for individual performance and expected outcomes; • Generates policies and procedures to address day-to-day problems as needed; and • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company's Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management. In addition, the education, experience, and other skills listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. EDUCATION • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited higher education institution is required; and • Master's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited higher education institution is preferred. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS • National Administrator Credential (NAC) and/or early childhood education license/certification is required; and • Possess a Health and Safety Certificate which includes Pediatric First Aid and CPR. WORK EXPERIENCE • Minimum of five (5) years of proven classroom experience; and • Minimum of three (3) years of proven leadership experience. KEY SKILLS SET • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality; • Ability to speak bi-literate and bilingual; • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills; • Excellent written and oral communication skills; • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines; • Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead change for a diverse group of individuals; and • Team player. EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS • High proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; • Exposure to using Social Media platforms; and • Working knowledge of all standard office equipment.
