St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager Employees Supervised: Warehouse Associates General Description/Position Summary: The purpose of the Warehouse Supervisor position is to assist the Warehouse Manager in managing the warehouse operation effectively and efficiently. The primary responsibilities include assisting with daily operations and managing the warehouse staff. Ensure the accurate and safe delivery of products to partner agencies and the community. Collaborate with other Operations leaders to ensure USDA program requirements are met and ensure AIB food safety standards are maintained. Work with the Operations Leadership to create a positive culture that aligns with the Foodbank's core values. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure daily operations flow of outgoing product with accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Collaborate pre-shift daily with the Warehouse Manager on assigning Warehouse Associates to daily tasks including order fulfilment and sanitation based on workload, schedule and or needs of the Facility each day. Key order fulfilment goal is to maintain a 2-day lead on outbound shipments. With the Warehouse Manager, conduct daily roll call and stand-up meetings with warehouse fulfillment team. Communicate goals, team objectives and priorities for the day (and the week as needed) In the Warehouse Manager's absence, you will be responsible for conducting these daily meetings. Must become proficient with the Ceres (WMS) system and ensure efficient and consistent usage of the platform and processes to support effective management and control of daily warehouse operations. Track Order accuracy and incidents of failing to follow proper procedure. Holding associates accountable as needed for failing to follow proper process. Collaborate with the Inventory Control Manager to maintain inventory accuracy. Assist with daily cycle counting process and or designate a Warehouse team member to assist. Assist the IC team with researching discrepancies by checking outbound orders for pulling errors. Assist the Inventory Control team with the handling of restocks, returns, and recording of damaged products. Assist the Warehouse Manager with tracking temp labor in the warehouse. Collect and turn in temp labor hours to the Warehouse Manager. Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager on the coaching and counseling of employees; including conducting annual reviews and issuing employee corrective action/discipline as needed. Maintain depth of training for the warehouse staff, collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and the Inventory Control Manager to ensuring a minimum of 3 associates are cross trained on all skilled tasks (tasks other than basic order fulfillment, see below) Daily set up of order fulfilment pick path Agency pick up Dock (the loading of agency orders accurately and in a timely manner) Pulling Government program orders (TFAP & CSFP) Inbound Receiving and proper product/pallet storage Conducting cycle counting Ensure daily equipment safety checklists are turned in for all warehouse equipment. Responsible for following policies and procedures related to food safety and equipment safety. Be active in reinforcing safe work practices. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High degree of inventory experience. Ability to multitask and prioritize. High school diploma or GED, and warehouse experience. Skilled in the operation of standard warehouse equipment. Proficient in basic math. Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling and usage. Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check. Working Conditions: Work is performed in warehouse with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Entrances may be open and work conditions during the summer months can be very hot, and during the winter very cold. Employees may be going in and out of freezers and coolers with extreme variations in temperature. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Periodically may work outside and be exposed to the elements. Employee may be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects due to working with damaged product. Work involves moving boxes and employees must lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 75 pounds. Work involves using manual pallet jacks and therefore requires an ability to push and pull pallets over 2,000 pounds. May work evenings and weekends due to special events and other projects related to timely and accurate warehousing and distribution of product. May travel overnight to attend meetings.
