Sill VA Clinics. Responsibilities:The Grounds Maintenance Services Contractor will be responsible for maintaining and managing the grounds at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System (OKC VAHCS) and the Lawton/Ft. Sill VA Clinics. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the grounds are well-manicured, clean, and safe throughout the designated areas. The contractor's services should contribute to a visually appealing and aesthetic environment for all VA visitors and staff, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and service efficiency, in support of the VA mission.Primary Responsibilities Include:• Lawn Maintenance: Mowing and trimming the lawn on a weekly basis. Aerating, reseeding, or removing and replacing turf as necessary for healthy growth. Edging lawn borders to maintain clean, crisp lines around streets, curbs, and walkways.• Landscape Maintenance: Regularly replacing items in flower beds as needed. Maintaining plant health, appearance, and seasonal changes in portable containers.• Plant Maintenance and Pruning: Ensuring all plants remain healthy, alive, and green. Providing water, fertilization, and mulching when necessary. Pruning plants to maintain their natural form and flowering habit.• Tree Trimming and Pruning: Trimming trees to remove dead limbs and maintain safety clearance. Reporting damaged or overgrown tree branches to the appropriate authority.• Bush, Shrub, and Hedge Trimming and Pruning: Trimming shrubs and vines to enhance their natural form and maintain walkwayclearance.• Leaf Removal: Clearing landscape, mulch areas, and paved surfaces of leaf build-up.• Weeding: Ensuring mulch areas and flower beds are free of weeds and trash.• Pest Control: Implementing measures to keep the grounds free from pests. Adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations for pesticide usage.• Drain Cleaning: Keeping drains and gutters free of debris and leaf build-up.• Waste Removal:Properly disposing of all waste-type items collected during maintenance. Requirements:• Prior experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping.• Knowledge of local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health guidelines.• Certification for pesticide application in the State of Oklahoma.• Ability to work during standard business hours and occasional holidays.• Effective communication skills to coordinate with the COR and VA Health Care System staff.Note: The position is subject to compliance with all applicable safety, security, and environmental regulations
