Job Description: The Head Start teacher, along with their teaching team, is responsible for classroom operation including individualized planning and implementation for students, maintaining a safe classroom environment and engaging appropriate behavior management strategies. Supervises and leads a class of up to 20, 3 to 5 year old children. Date of first consideration: 04/05/2023 Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for day-to-day set up of classroom and planning and implementing curriculum including individualizing for children, monitoring development and ensuring accurate data is collected (20%) Provide a positive classroom environment through building relationships, implementing age-appropriate expectations and allowing for child-directed opportunities (20%) Demonstrate and model good health, nutrition, safety and behavior management practices (15%) Maintains accurate classroom inventory and regularly cleans and disinfects classroom and playground area (15%) Attend required training and implement practices, procedures and expectations (15%) Additional Duties: Support parents/guardians in their role as primary educator of their child through an engaging relationship. Conduct at least two parent-teacher conferences and home visits each year.
