Recreation Department Mission Statement - The City of Independence Recreation Department is committed to excellence in programming, facilities, and service while improving the quality of life within our community. The primary responsibility of the City of Independence Outdoor Pool Customer Service Desk is the first person to greet residents and guest upon arrival at the Outdoor Pool and process their admission to the pool. It is important that the Customer Service Desk enforce all admission rules, become familiar with all pool programs and schedules, and be able to multitask throughout the day. Employment Details Pay rate $13/hr - $15/hr Seasonal Employment Dates: May 20 - September 7 Regular raises for staff that return consecutive seasons Work Schedule Pool is open 7 days per week Available shifts: 9am-4pm, 4-8pm Mandatory Weekend rotation Seasonal Part-Time, 25-40 hours per week Training provided Responsibilities Greet and interact with residents and guests as they arrive at the Outdoor Pool Multitask - Greet the public in person, answer the phone, operate the pool PA/Sound System Enforce all admission rules. Be familiar with pool programs and the pool schedule; able to answer questions and take registrations. Work directly with Sportsman software to process all transactions; take payments and operate the cash register. Interact/respond to supervisor or resident/guest requests as needed. Alert supervisor immediately to areas/incidents that need attention. Knowledge and Skills Self-motivated Strong Communication Skills Strong Computer Skills Decision Making Skills Must have a high school diploma Must pass a drug test and background check The City of Independence is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
