The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of complex analytical and technical functions related to general accounting, purchasing, financial reporting, and other fiscal activities. Work involves calculating, verifying, posting, and balancing a variety of financial transactions. This position provides exceptional service within the organization and to external customers, including promoting a positive image of the City, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and service-minded working environment, and consistently exhibiting professionalism and integrity through the community. Other duties of a general office nature are also performed. Salary and Benefits The hiring range is $72,026 - $78,778 , the starting salary will be dependent upon experience. This is a full-time, Exempt position. Applicants for the position of Accountant must meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field; At least two (2) years of experience in finance or accounting-related work, municipal environment preferred; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
