The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately processing the organization's payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** - Process bi-weekly or payroll for employees accurately and timely.- Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, and bonuses as per company policies and relevant regulations.- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments.- Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits.- Address payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional manner.- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.- Assist in preparing payroll reports, summaries, and analyses for management.- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate payroll data.- Stay updated on payroll best practices and changes in regulations. **Competencies:** - Attention to detail- Time management and organization- Numerical proficiency- Confidentiality and integrity- Strong communication skills- Problem-solving abilities- Knowledge of payroll software and systems- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.- Proven experience as a payroll clerk or in a similar role.- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.- Familiarity with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex).- Knowledge of payroll regulations, laws, and tax requirements.- Excellent numerical and data entry skills.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.- Ability to maintain confidentiality.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Powered by JazzHR
