Waltonen Engineering is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join our team! Responsibilities Work under the guidance of the IT Manager Schedule, image, install software, test, and deploy new PCs to users scheduled for refresh Reclaim prior equipment, update documentation, and assist with the disposal process Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backup Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments Qualifications 1-3 years experience in desktop support services Only United States Citizens can be considered Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance Must be able to pass background screening Technical knowledge of hardware, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and workstations Technical knowledge of PC internal components, including drives, cards, memory upgrades Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills Written and oral communication skills Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree Certifications such as A+ or Microsoft MC are a bonus NIST/CMMC knowledge also a plus Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Vacation and Holiday pay Employer matching 401K Tuition Reimbursement Flexible Spending Programs (FSAs) Short-Term & Long-Term Disability insurance Employee Referral Program Additional Voluntary Benefit Programs Off-site company events & Employee Luncheons Who are we?
