About the Role: We are currently seeking a Platform Engineer to become a member of our Platform Engineering Team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should have broad knowledge and experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, and security principles. Responsibilities: * Be a core contributor to the Platform Engineering portfolio of products and services. * Design and development web applications, automation templates, and developer tooling. * Define and document software engineering standards, frameworks, and tools. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 5-7 years professional experience in software, systems, or infrastructure engineering. * Ability to write secure, reliable, and testable production quality code in one or more modern programming language (Python, Go, Rust, C#, Typescript, etc.). * Experience with shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.). * Proficiency in front-end application technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.). * Expertise in Git version control and familiar with the trade-offs between branching strategies. * Understanding of HTTP and web application security (OWASP, CORS, TLS, etc.). * Experience implementing modern web authentication (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, etc.). * Experience with public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP). * Knowledge of API concepts and technologies (REST, SOAP, Swagger, etc.). * Firm grasp of software testing concepts (Linting, Unit testing, Integration testing, etc.). * Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub Actions, DevSecOps, test automation, etc.) * Demonstrated ability to: * Quickly learn new technologies, methodologies, tools, and processes. * Comprehend complex and complicated projects. * Deliver results within expected timelines with minimal oversight. * Adapt to changes and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. * Effectively collaborate with others to achieve objectives and key results. Nice to have: * Experience with Backstage or similar Internal Developer Platform tools. * Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, etc.). * Experience building and deploying containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Nomad, etc.). * Experience with private cloud infrastructure (VMWare, OpenStack, Nutanix, etc). * Familiarity with HPC (High Performance Computing) paradigms and low-latency development. * Understanding of AI concepts and their potential for real-world applications.
