POSITION PURPOSE: We are seeking a vigilant and reliable individual to join our team as an Overnight Security Guard. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety and security of our premises during the nighttime hours. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both interior and exterior, to detect and deter any unauthorized activity. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify any suspicious behavior or security breaches. Respond promptly to any disturbances, emergencies, or alarms, and take appropriate action as necessary. Maintain accurate logs of all security-related activities, including patrols, incidents, and any other noteworthy occurrences. Provide assistance and support to employees, visitors, and clients as needed, including escorting individuals to their vehicles or assisting with access control. Perform routine checks of doors, windows, and other access points to ensure they are properly secured. Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or security concerns to the appropriate authorities or supervisors. Collaborate effectively with other security personnel and staff members to maintain a cohesive and secure environment. Stay informed about company policies, procedures, and emergency protocols, and ensure compliance at all times. Attend training sessions and meetings as required to enhance skills and knowledge related to security practices and procedures. Submit daily reports or incidents to the manager. KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERENCE AND SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in security or law enforcement preferred. Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with the capacity to make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations. Excellent observational skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to identify potential security risks or threats. Ability to perform regular patrols and respond quickly to emergencies as needed. Sound judgment and integrity, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required. Proficiency in basic computer applications and security systems preferred. Knowledge of state laws and regulations. Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb steps regularly. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the location. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
