San Jose, CA
Description:

Joint Venture Silicon Valley's Institute for Regional Studies is seeking a skilled and experienced researcher to lead data acquisition and analysis for the organization's annual Silicon Valley Index publication, ongoing SiliconValleyIndicators.org online data hub, and other Institute research efforts. This role offers an opportunity to provide data and analysis for the public benefit while studying one of the world's most unique and globally-impactful regional ecosystems. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, meticulous, and determined. When someone says "jump" they research the definition and disambiguation of jump, then proceed to analyze the meaning of it in the context in which it was used. They love citing sources, examining complex regional issues, and using Oxford commas; they know how to use semi-colons, and when to use hyphens, en dashs, and em dashs. They understand that every high-level researcher must also be capable of doing low-level, repetitive tasks, like Ctrl+C Ctrl+V x 1000.
