The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing complex energy and natural resources transactional work, encompassing MA, project development, and commercial agreements. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both renewable and conventional energy sectors, including experience with engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy generating facilities. The candidate will also have expertise in financing transactions within the energy and natural resources sector, managing intricate transactions on tight timelines, and supervising junior lawyers and legal support staff.Duties:Manage complex energy and natural resources transactional work, including MA, project development, and commercial agreements.Handle renewable energy transactional work, including MA, joint ventures, build-transfer agreements, and various commercial agreements such as PPAs, OM Agreements, Shared Facilities Agreements, and procurement contracts.Oversee conventional energy and natural resources transactional work, with a specific emphasis on oil and gas.Manage engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy generating facilities.Handle financing transactions in the energy and natural resources sector.Requirements:3-6 years of demonstrated experience in a sophisticated law firm environment.Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Bar admission in the state of Illinois.Advantageous Experience:Engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy generating facilities.Financing transactions in the energy and natural resources sector.Skills:Strong project management skills to handle complex transactions on tight timelines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with subject matter experts, local counsel, junior lawyers, and legal support staff.Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.Life insurance and retirement plans.Flexible time-off plans, including paid parental leave, Paid Time Off (PTO), and paid holidays.
