Research Asst I (Temp) - Cit

Description:
Summary Work with the existing team on collecting and processing data from the existing autonomous driving vehicle. The project is on detecting the road surface type based on noise and vibration data and videos. Responsibilities* Collect multimodal data from the autonomous vehicle systems (video, vibrations, sound, etc.) Help with data analysis and processing Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project Attend weekly project meetings Prepare articles, reports, and presentations as needed Manage and respond to project related email Required Qualifications* Must be a current of University of Michigan-Flint graduate student in good academic standing or recently graduated from a UM-Flint graduate program. Familiar with the open-source framework Robot Operating System (ROS) or willing to learn how to use it Able to drive the UM-Flint research vehicle (hold a valid MI Drivers? License) Proficient in Microsoft Excel Desired Qualifications* Familiar with or willing to learn general machine learning techniques. Work Schedule This position begins immediately and will continue through part of the summer 2024 term.
