Aquarion Water Company is a wholly:owned subsidiary of Eversource. Job Summary The following Union position is listed as an opening at Aquarion Water Company of Massachusetts (Millbury/Oxford). A position is available in Millbury/Oxford, Massachusetts for a seasonal laborer associated with the water systems in Millbury and Oxford. Applicant must be in good physical condition and be capable of working a regular weekly eight (8) hour shift (Mondays through Fridays, with a half hour for lunch) and scheduled overtime as required. The Applicant must have the necessary technical, mechanical, communication, and basic skills which are required to fulfill this position. Principal Responsibilities:Reading, installing, and removing customer meters with radio based and hand held equipment, including uploading and downloading meter reading route information and data. :Repairing and maintaining fire hydrants. :Perform general plant maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds keeping. :Assist in the maintenance and operation of pumps, motors, valves, hydrants, and related appurtenances. :Operate a diverse assortment of mechanical and electrical tools, including pneumatic tools, cutting, hand, and power tools. :Possess ability to lift 75 pounds and ability to use a respirator and other safety equipment. :Insures all activities are in compliance with company and regulator mandated procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines. :Perform other various duties as assigned. Preferred Requirements stylemargin:bottom:13.0px::Must be 18 years old. :Must have a driver's license. : Must be willing to work outdoors in the heat and full sun. Education/Certifications:Must have a high school degree. Salary: The base wage rate for this position is 18.44per hour as of 8/1/2023, subject to Union negotiated wage increases. : In accordance with the current Union contract, Union members will have first priority in the application process.
